Young children learn best through
active exploration of their environment and interactions
with other children and adults. Children have a natural desire
to learn and make sense of the world around them. Self-confidence
and self-esteem grow as children experience success.
Our early learning center promotes a stimulating,
challenging learning environment. The full-time staff provides
the children with an environment of consistency and a sense
of security. Through the age and individually appropriate
curriculum, our trained teachers give children daily opportunities
to develop physically, socially, emotionally and intellectually.
Our goal is to meet the needs of the whole child. When these
needs are met children are successful in Kindergarten and
successful in life. We accomplish this goal by:
- Allowing children to spend sufficient
time in Dramatic Play activities and working with materials
or with other children.
This type of play is called structured play since the activities are particularly
designed to increase math, language and early reading skills.
- Providing children with access to various
activities throughout the day.
- Permitting teachers to work with
individual children, small groups, and the whole group
at different times during the day.
- Incorporating numbers and the alphabet
in the context of the child's everyday experience.
- Giving children an opportunity to play
outside in a safe area every day.
Health, safety, and hygiene are given the highest priority. All
preschoolers and staff members will have current immunizations. Parents
will be given a daily report on eating pattern, naps
and activities.
